It’s US Open time in New York, which means tennis fever has officially hit the city that never sleeps. As the final major tournament in professional tennis, the US Open always draws a healthy audience, nationally and abroad.
Maybe you’ve been waiting for the US Open tennis tournament since Wimbledon ended in July. Or maybe your roommate is obsessed with Roger Federer and won’t let you watch anything else. Either way, it’s hard to miss the excitement bubbling up around the tournament.
We’ve collected some easy, free and totally legal ways to watch and follow the US Open with these six social media tips.
Read what the top contenders are saying about the tournament. Andy Murray tweets daily, nonchalantly dropping phrases like, “Just picked up the US Open Series trophy.” Venus Williams is another avid tweeter and, if nothing else, it’s entertaining to keep up with her wardrobe choices (she recently started a clothing line).
Andy Roddick, Bob Bryan, Kim Clijsters, and John Isner all have thriving TwitterTwitter

Roger Federer is more of a Facebook guy. His Page has regular updates and videos, plus some great fan outreach. There’s a reason more than four million people “Like” his page: He often responds to fan-submitted questions, for example, “I can dunk a tennis ball, but not a basketball…I am going to stick to tennis,” as well as his dream championship matchups.
Rafael Nadal also prefers his Facebook Page. You might need to understand Spanish in order to read it, but you can join the 3.5 million people who “Like” it in any language. Following this >English-speaking fan on Twitter is a better way for non-Spanish speakers to keep up. Nadal fans can also check out his YouTubeYouTube moments (many of them with translation) on his dipity timeline.
YouTube has also been a big hit for tracking players. Both Murray and Federer have shown a little flair on YouTube recently. Federer starred in a video where he aims a tennis ball at a bottle sitting on top of a nervous man’s head. Whether fake or not, it’s pretty fun to watch.
In the video above, Murray takes a London stroll with some tennis balls, showing off some tricks along the way.
If your boss is OK with it, you can watch the tournament all day long on the InternetInternet
. The official US Open site has video feeds with commentary at many of the courts. You can switch easily between courts or watch more than one court at a time. Without closing the video screen, you can also add an online fan chat and view updated stats.
ESPN3 also added selected matches to its live streaming schedule but you need to have an affiliated Internet provider in order to access the video.
If you don’t have time to watch, but still want to follow, there a number of good Twitter sources that will keep you up to speed:

The US Open iPhone App is pretty magnificent. It allows you to check the scores of ongoing games, review the schedule, watch videos, listen to radio casts of matches, read player bios, and see Tweets from players. If you happen to actually be at the National Tennis Center, there’s an “Around Me” augmented reality feature that helps you “see through walls” to find the nearest live matches, concessions, or next train home. If you don’t have an iPhone, sadly you’re out of luck in the app department. You can, however, visit the US Open’s mobile site or try alternatives like US Open2010 for AndroidAndroid.

1968 Season In Ncaa Basketball
1968 season at THE NCAA men's basketball would be exciting. While it was exciting, there was definitely a team, there would be a favorite of all the other teams in the nation. UCLA Bruins had won THE NCAA tournament in order to win the national Championship the previous year. They also had already won the other titles in the 1960s, and many people assume that they would only come back and win again. Some felt like UCLA could not be turned on. While it was said that most people don't understand just how invincible UCLA would be for the coming years.
This year, UCLA would be led by coach John Wooden and the famous Lew Alcindor. While Lew Alcindor is famous, he is not nearly as famous under the name Lew Alcindor as he is under the name Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Abdul-Jabbar would go on to become one of the best NBA players of all time. He scored more points than any other player in the game's history. His dominance in the NCAA began under the leadership of Wooden.
UCLA cruised through the season and managed to find their way to the top of the nation for the tournament. There would be 23 teams that would be invited to the tournament. The teams 23 would participate in the single elimination play to determine the national Champions.
The teams, the game was Boston College, Columbia, Davidson, La Salle, North Carolina, St. Bonaventure, St. John 's, Bowling Green, East Tennessee State, Florida State, Kentucky, Marquette, Michigan, Ohio, Houston, Kansas State, Louisville, Loyola, TCU, New Mexico, Santa Clara, Weber State and, of course, UCLA.
There were a couple of teams, who was from the rest of the competition. One of the teams were in North Carolina. They were located in the eastern regions. They succeeded to put away St. Bonaventure and Davidson along the way to qualify for the last four.
The teams who stood in the Middle East division was Ohio State and Kentucky. Each of them beat their opponents and squared to see who would go on to the final four. The game between the teams was one of the best games in the tournament. The final result was 82-81 of the Ohio country's advantage.
Midwest Region was dominated by Houston. It managed to beat TCU at 35 points in the game to determine who would go to the last four. Many people felt like Houston would be the biggest challenge for UCLA in the tournament.
UCLA would win the region to the West by marketing plan, New Mexico State and Santa Clara.
North Carolina and Ohio State faced in games between teams from the eastern regions. North Carolina was just too good for Ohio State and won the game by 14 points. In the game between the teams in the western regions was UCLA dominant. The pounded Houston 101-69 and advanced to the finals to take on North Carolina.
UCLA was just too much of North Carolina, gain by 23 points in the national Championship Game. Lew Alcindor would be named the tournament's most Outstanding player.
